Skab Abdulrahman Al-Attiyat

Pioneer in Voluntary and Community Work – Ambassador of Peace and Human Rights

Ms. Skab Abdulrahman Al-Attiyat is one of the leading pioneers in voluntary and community work in Balqa Governorate. Her influence extends far beyond the city of Salt, making her a national model of an active and impactful Jordanian woman. She is deeply rooted in the values of solidarity, generosity, and social responsibility. Ms. Skab has consistently embodied in both local and international forums.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from

Al-Ahliyya Amman University, awarded in 2011.

Throughout her career, she has successfully combined academic knowledge with hands-on fieldwork, enabling her to assume leadership roles at an early stage. Among her most prominent positions was serving as Director of Social Services and Public Relations at Greater Salt Municipality, where she played a key role in strengthening social work, local development, and community engagement. Ms. Al-Attiyat has emerged as an influential social activist and has actively participated in the preservation of cultural heritage, driven by her firm belief that national identity is a cornerstone of cohesive and resilient societies. She also founded the initiative “Ehna (We Have the Right)”, which supports children with Down syndrome, reflecting her deep commitment to human rights, inclusion, and the empowerment of marginalized groups. On the international level, Ms. Al-Attiyat has received numerous titles and honors, most notably being named an Ambassador of Peace and Human Rights by several international organizations. She represented the German Organization for Development and Peace in Jordan and was awarded three honorary PhD degrees in Human Rights from internationally recognized institutions, in recognition of her outstanding humanitarian and community contributions. She has held leadership and membership positions in Arab and international networks and organizations dedicated to peace and human rights, and has chaired specialized committees. One of her most significant milestones was her service as a member of the Decentralized Governorate Council, where she received the highest number of votes across Balqa Governorate and ranked first among women candidates, reflecting strong public trust in her leadership. In addition, she served as the technical supervisor of Rotana News Office – Jordan Branch, and contributed to the cultural and literary fields through administrative and supervisory roles in specialized magazines.

Ms. Al-Attiyat has received hundreds of certificates of appreciation and honorary shields, including the Peace Shield Award in 2019, and has been honored by numerous unions and institutions for her pioneering role. She is widely regarded as the “elder sister” of the city’s youth and a role model in the voluntary and humanitarian work.
