University lecturer /Al-Mammon university -Iraq

Graduation Year: 2023

Faculty: Faculty of Pharmacy

My professional journey began just one month after graduating from Al-Ahliyya Amman University, when I started working as a skincare consultant at a beauty centre. This experience marked the beginning of my career and provided me with an opportunity to apply my knowledge and develop my practical skills. Over time, my passion for learning and scientific research grew, leading me to pursue academic and research activities alongside my professional development.

One of the achievements I am most proud of is publishing seven research papers to date, in addition to contributing a chapter to an international book. These accomplishments reflect my dedication to scientific research, continuous learning and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in my field.

Like any researcher, I have faced challenges along the way. One of the most significant was the limited availability of resources and facilities required to implement my research plans in practice. Rather than allowing these limitations to hinder my progress, I sought alternative opportunities in other governorates and countries, enabling me to continue my research and pursue my scientific goals.

Al-Ahliyya Amman University has played a fundamental role in shaping both my professional and academic identity. During my studies, I learned valuable lessons from every professor I encountered, and their teaching approaches continue to influence the way I interact with and educate my students today. Having worked as a university lecturer for the past two years, I can clearly see how the knowledge, values and teaching methods I experienced at AAU have become part of my own academic practice.

My experience working at the university's research centre was particularly valuable, as it provided me with hands-on experience using advanced scientific equipment and modern technologies. It also allowed me to participate in scientific experiments and research activities, strengthening my practical expertise and preparing me to pursue research with greater confidence and competence. Furthermore, the achievements and activities of AAU's Faculty of Pharmacy continue to inspire me, motivating me to share the knowledge and experience I gained at my alma mater with my current academic institution.

My advice to AAU students and recent graduates is to build strong, positive relationships with their professors and make the most of the knowledge and experience they offer. Every professor has valuable expertise that can influence students' personal development, professional decisions and future success. I also encourage students to participate actively in extracurricular activities and university events, as these experiences help develop essential skills, broaden perspectives and prepare them for the demands of the workplace. Sharing knowledge and transferring experience are important elements of both individual and institutional success.

Above all, I encourage graduates to remain proud of their university and to recognise its role in shaping their journeys. I am always grateful to Al-Ahliyya Amman University for the role it played in developing my personality, strengthening my knowledge and preparing me for my professional responsibilities. Today, I carry the lessons I learned there into my own teaching and research, and I take pride in acknowledging my alma mater at every opportunity.

Looking ahead, one of my greatest aspirations is to contribute to my current university's efforts to achieve American accreditation. Having been part of the support team at Al-Ahliyya Amman University during its accreditation journey, I gained valuable knowledge and experience in accreditation requirements and institutional development. I hope to build on this experience to support my current institution in achieving its accreditation goals, advancing academic excellence and contributing to the continuous improvement of higher education.
