From Biomedical Engineering to Leadership in Healthcare

My professional journey began after graduating from Al-Ahliyya Amman University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. I started my career as a Biomedical Service Engineer in the Intensive Care Unit at Salehiya Medical in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The strong engineering foundation I gained at AAU enabled me to develop my technical expertise and advance to the position of Service Team Leader, paving the way for future managerial and leadership roles in the healthcare sector.

Throughout my career, I have focused on achieving measurable results, including exceeding revenue targets, improving operational processes, enhancing customer satisfaction, and expanding business across critical care, neurology, and healthcare technology. One of my most significant career milestones was becoming Country Business Manager at Tamer Healthcare, where I led cross-functional teams, managed financial performance and profitability strategies, and negotiated major strategic contracts.

My career has presented challenges related to healthcare regulations, the adoption of advanced medical technologies, and complex commercial negotiations. I have overcome these challenges by continuously developing my leadership, strategic, and digital capabilities. I also pursued executive education, including a Digital Strategies program at Columbia Business School and an MBA at Westcliff University. I believe that continuous learning and building strong professional relationships are essential to long-term career success.

Al-Ahliyya Amman University played an important role in preparing me for my professional journey by providing a strong academic and practical foundation in Biomedical Engineering. My education equipped me with the knowledge to understand advanced medical devices and healthcare technology solutions used in intensive care units. It also enabled me to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, technical teams, and executive management, connecting engineering knowledge with the practical needs of the healthcare sector.

My advice to AAU students and recent graduates is to build a strong academic foundation, commit to continuous learning, and combine technical expertise with business and management skills. I encourage them to embrace their first career opportunities, learn from every experience, and build lasting professional relationships. I believe that career growth comes through persistence, dedication, and a willingness to adapt and develop new skills.

Looking ahead, I aspire to continue advancing my leadership career in healthcare, contributing to digital transformation, AI-driven diagnostics, and strategic innovation across the Middle East. I am also committed to sharing my experience with the next generation of healthcare and technology professionals and contributing to innovative solutions that create sustainable value for organizations and communities.
