He has been in the business field in various positions starting from a manager to being a consultant and a professor since his graduation from Al-Ahliyya Amman University in 2002.
He graduated from Al-Ahliyya Amman University from the faculty of Business majoring in Accounting. His accounting degree was foundational to kick-off his career. Dr. Saad’s major was diversified in accounting focusing on business studies as well as working as in various developmental positions, which increased and developed his career with a strong knowledge and a solid background.
Dr. Saad’ passion and dedication to the field of accounting was due to his time and education spent at the Al-Ahliyya Amman University, as well as having grown up in a professional services household (his father worked at Deloitte most his career), he had always had his sights on professional services firms (such as Deloitte, EY, PwC, etc.). These factors guided him to master the basic and advanced skills in his field of career. The thought process is that an accounting degree would position him to join the Audit or Tax practices at professional services firms. Dr. Saad then added an MBA degree, a dual major in Accounting and Finance. The MBA was intended to position him to join the Advisory practice at professional services firms. Lastly, in 2021, he completed his Doctoral degree in management and started his second career as a Strategy & Leadership professor at the University of Houston.
Since graduating in 2002, Dr. Saad held several positions at various management-consulting firms for more than 20 years. Those firms include large ones (such as EY, PwC, Grant Thornton, and FTI Consulting) as well as smaller/ regional firms in the US (such as North Highland, and now Transformative Advisors). During those years, Dr. Saad served clients in various capacities and domains, including Risk Management, Merger & Acquisition (from pre-deal advisory to post-deal and integration work), strategic advisory, process improvement, technology selection and deployment, program/ project and change management, etc and many more. His dedication and passion to business studies led him to work in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) before moving to the US in 2010. His expertise was demanded in many projects in Europe, Canada, and China.
Accounting, strategy and leadership is a critical aspect of his career and his education enhanced Dr. Saad’s ability to continue to advise his clients so his knowledge and skills remain current while he transitions more into academia in the form of teaching, research, and service. He is also active in supporting nonprofit organizations primarily in the healthcare sector as an advisor and board member and plans to continue to do so.
Dr. Saad excelled and succeeded in his career due to his passion for business and accomplishment oriented mindset. Not only does he aim to succeed, he also dreams and is inspired by others to pursue his career and profession.
A quote that Dr. Saad is inspired by and inform his students and clients: “Don’t be a champion, just show up”, “there’s always someone ahead of you and someone behind you. Accept the pace of your own journey”, and “believe you can and you are half way there”
