Dr. Abdullah Ahmad Al-Arabiat

Court of Appeal Judge / Judicial Council of Jordan

Graduation Year: 1994

Faculty: Faculty of Law

My professional journey began after graduating from Al-Ahliyya Amman University, which represented the starting point of my academic and professional career. From there, I embarked on a long journey in the legal and judicial field, progressing through several important stages that contributed to building my professional experience and developing my legal skills.

I began my career as a trainee lawyer, an important first step that allowed me to apply the knowledge I had gained through my academic studies in a practical environment and develop a deeper understanding of the legal profession and its responsibilities. I then progressed to working as a licensed lawyer, where I gained valuable practical experience and further strengthened my legal knowledge through direct involvement in legal practice.

Driven by my belief in the importance of specialized legal education and continuous professional development, I joined the Judicial Institute of Jordan. This stage represented a significant milestone in my career and prepared me for the transition from legal practice to the judiciary. The specialized education and practical training I received at the Institute strengthened my legal and judicial knowledge and prepared me to assume the responsibilities of judicial work.

I subsequently began my career in the judiciary, entering a profession built on the application of the law, the pursuit of justice, and the principles of integrity, impartiality, and professional responsibility. Over the years, my judicial career developed through a number of responsibilities and assignments, including serving as the Head of several courts at different stages of my career.

Serving as the Head of several courts is one of the professional achievements I am most proud of. These responsibilities represented a significant expression of trust and required strong leadership, sound decision-making, administrative ability, and a high level of responsibility. They also provided me with valuable opportunities to contribute to the effective administration of justice and the proper functioning of the courts.

Like any professional journey, my career has included challenges. Judicial work requires accuracy, sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to make responsible decisions under different circumstances. I have approached these challenges through my commitment to the law, continuous development of my legal and professional knowledge, patience, sound judgment, and the belief that every professional experience is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Al-Ahliyya Amman University played an important role in the beginning of this journey. My university education provided me with the academic foundation from which I began building my professional career. As my career progressed from legal practice to the judiciary, I came to appreciate even more the importance of academic knowledge in developing a strong legal personality capable of continuous learning, professional growth, and taking on greater responsibilities.

My advice to AAU students and recent graduates is to make knowledge the foundation of their professional journey and to understand that success is not achieved in a single step. It is built gradually through hard work, dedication, experience, and continuous learning. I encourage students to make the most of their university years by developing their knowledge, skills, and character, while also recognizing the importance of professional ethics. Knowledge alone is not enough; it must be accompanied by integrity, responsibility, and commitment.

Looking ahead, my professional aspiration is to continue fulfilling my responsibilities in the judicial field with integrity and dedication, while continuously developing my knowledge and experience and contributing, to the best of my ability, to the service of justice and the advancement of the rule of law. I believe that judicial work is more than a profession; it is a responsibility and a mission that requires integrity, independence, impartiality, and a constant commitment to justice.

I am proud that Al-Ahliyya Amman University was the starting point of my professional journey, and I am honored to be one of its graduates who have continued their careers in positions of responsibility. My journey has taught me that every stage contributes to building success, and that true professional achievement is founded on knowledge, hard work, discipline, integrity, and a commitment to serving society through one's profession.
