Dr. Baraa earned his BA degree in Health Promotion and Education from Al- Ahliyya Amman University in 2009 with distinguished honors, which led him to seek opportunities abroad, travelling to Canada and gaining experience working and volunteering for about two years. His education and experience led him to Saudi Arabia, where he became a teaching assistant in the Health Promotion and Health Education department at the college of public health and health informatics at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU). By the end of 2013, he went to Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia, to study Masters of Public Health with a Health Promotion major. He graduated in 2015 and was offered a spot in the PhD health program at QUT.

During his PhD journey, he was involved in teaching assistance duties besides his thesis and research activities. Dr. Baraa’s education and dedication allowed him to receive a promotion to become an assistant professor as well as receiving professional classification as senior specialist in public health -health promotion from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

His dedication, his education that assisted him through this journey in addition to his extensive work at the college of public health and health informatics promoted him to be appointed as the supervisor of hospital affairs unit, which his role included the support and assisting the interns during their practical year. Since holding this position, Dr. Barra has successfully helped around 587 interns to graduate to be public health specialists in Health Promotion and Education, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, and Health Information Management and Technology.
