The AAU President Participates in A Symposium Titled "The Distinguished Management of Internal & External University Sport Activity"

The AAU President and the President of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities, Prof. Sari Hamdan participated in a symposium titled "The Distinguished Management of Internal and External University Sport Activity" on Wednesday, 24/2/2021 via the (Zoom) Application. It is worthy to note that this symposium which was organized by the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities in cooperation with the Arab Universities Sports Federation targeted all sport activity directors and sports supervisors in all Arab universities. The symposium manager, the Dean of Student Affairs and the Secretary of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities, Dr. Mustafa Al-Attiyat, started the symposium by welcoming all participants from all Arab countries. Then, Prof. Hamdan talked about the first theme of the symposium titled "New Ideas in Managing Internal Sport activities at the University." He also explained all the modern methods that Arab universities should follow to promote the practice of sport on campus for all groups of students and employees in universities. Prof. Magda El-Shazly, the Rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Alexandria and the former Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Girls at Alexandria University, dealt with the second theme titled "the Local Outdoor Activities & Activating Sports Championships & Competitions for the National University Sports Federations." Prof. Ahmed Farouk, the instructor of physical education at the Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman, dealt with the last theme of the symposium, where he talked about external activities and the mechanism for activating the participation of universities in Arab, continental and international courses and championships. He also stressed the need for finding solutions to intensify the participation of Arab universities in international forums and to realize achievements. At the end of this event, the Director of the symposium, Dr. Al-Attiyat, opened the door for the participants to ask questions related to the three themes of the symposium. It is worthy to note that more than 100 directors of sports activities and sports supervisors in Arab universities have participated in this symposium. Meanwhile, Dr. Salem bin Khamis Al-Arimi, Chairman of the Education & Development Committee of the Arab Universities Sports Federation, thanked the lecturers, the director of the symposium and all the participants. At the same time, he indicated that the Arab Federation will hold more symposia for the purpose of developing and educating all the employees about sports activities in Arab universities.
