Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes a Ceremony for Freshman Year Students
Under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Tannani, the Academic Guidance Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy organized the Guidance Meeting for Freshman year students from the Academic Year 2021/2022 on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Nizar Qabbani Theatre. The meeting included a speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Tanani where he welcomed the new students, and demonstrating the most important achievements of the Faculty of Pharmacy which took place during his tenure as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the most important of which is the use of the latest means of teaching and learning, stressing at the same time the importance of research in keeping up with the global developments and providing the Center for Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic Research with the latest advanced devices, which was extremely beneficial for research and researchers, where this led to an increase in the number of research papers published in global accredited journals, in addition to obtaining a certificate of local and American quality assurance, success and excellence in e-learning and finding new and innovative methods to teach scientific courses during the Corona pandemic, updating the study plans for the bachelor's degree and master's degree in order to meet the requirements of the local and international market, increasing financial support for master's students and easing the restrictions of supervision of master's degrees so that the largest number of doctors can supervise master's students, signing agreements with local pharmacies and private and public hospitals in addition to signing agreements with pharmaceutical companies and centers such as Al-Hikma and Jordan Pharmaceutical Company, receiving local and international support of approximately half a million Jordanians. Dr. Bilal Al Najjar, Deputy Dean for Quality and Accreditation Affairs, then demonstrated all aspects related to academic matters and extracurricular activities in the Faculty of Pharmacy, which are carried out through a number of committees in the faculty, the most important of which is the training committee, the academic guidance committee and the committee of extracurricular activities, where he also went over the tasks of these committees with a focus on the most important points related to academic guidance and duties of the academic counselor, noting that all the information that the student needs is available electronically with the availability of all study plans and academic guides on the website of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He also encouraged students to take advantage of all the opportunities available to them and to engage in extracurricular activities. Furthermore, he talked about the Center for Guidance and Special Education and mentioned the most important services provided by the center to students and helping them cope with their university lives. Lastly, he spoke about the services provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs, which aims to develop the student's personality by developing the necessary plans, programs and activities necessary to achieve that goal. The meeting included an introductory video about the university and its facilities, in addition to participations from students that included mentioning the achievements of the Scientific Research Club of the faculty, singing and theater. The meeting was concluded by thanking the organizers of the meeting and honoring all students participating in the American quality accreditation and organizing the meeting for the freshman year students.
