Al-Ahliyya Amman University receives silver shield for healthy sport campus competition

Al-Ahliyya Amman University was awarded the Silver Shield in the Healthy Sport Campus Competition launched by the Arab Federation of University Sports earlier this year (2021). Dr. Saeed Hamad al-Hassani, President of the Arab Federation of University Sports, congratulated the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, on the university's second place and silver shield, while praising the vital and effective role of Al-Ahliyya Amman University in supporting and promoting extracurricular activities as an important part of the educational process. The university's participation in this competition was part of introducing an initiative entitled "Towards a healthy and safe university environment." This initiative aimed at providing a suitable, healthy environment for university students so that they can practice all educational and practical activities in a clean atmosphere that contributes to their physical and mental wellbeing and protects them against diseases in all their forms. This initiative also aims to increase the green spaces within the university and consolidate the concept of the importance of agriculture among students, encourage the spirit of volunteering and find alternatives to face-to-face education and administrative transactions, allowing students to complete their transactions remotely in order to protect their health, in addition to providing healthy and safe sports facilities for the practice of indoor sport activities by students. The initiative was supervised by a working group of the Deanship of Student Affairs consisting of: Dr. Mustafa Al-Attiyat/ Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Essam Al-Sahar/ Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Ramzi Al-Amiri/ Head of The Department of Student Activities and Clubs, and Mr. Mohammad Al-Lozi/ Supervisor of Student Activities and Clubs.
