Dr. Sari Hamdan elected as member of Executive Office of Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees

Dr. Sari Hamdan, Vice President of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, was elected Wednesday 8-12-2021 as a member of the Executive Office of the Federation of Arab National OlympicCommittees. This was during the general assembly meeting hosted by the Saudi Olympic Committee and was held in the grand conference hall of prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh. Mr. Nasser Majali, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, attended the General Assembly of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees. The 20th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees elected, by consensus, his Royal Highness Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki al-Faisal as president of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees for the period from 2021 to 2024. The General Assembly approved a number of resolutions, most notably the formation of the Arab Volunteering Authority, the strategic plan for women's sport, amendments to the statute of the Federation of Arab Committees, the amendment of the main set of regulations for the Pan Arab Games, and the Arab Women Sport Club Championship. The General Assembly also adopted a proposal by the Saudi Olympic Committee regarding the Federation’s joining the Initiative (Sports for Climate Action), a UN convention against climate change. The meeting also approved that the Jordanian capital Amman will host the proceedings of the next General Assembly meeting, with a date to be set later.
