Al Ahliyya Amman University is the first private university in Jordan and the first Arab private university in the Middle East. Established in 1990 to be a leading institute in private higher education, it is recognized and accredited locally and internationally, in addition of being a member of Arabic, Islamic and international universities unions.


AAU occupies ahead position among institutes of higher education centers, not only at the local level, but also at the level of the Arab world. AAU always seeks excellence and improvements in the quality of higher educational outcomes, through the adoption of methodologies and strategies that depend on building a quality control and monitoring system of all faculties, academic departments, academic centers and administrative offices. Within this framework, and to keep pace with rapid technological development in the information revolution, AAU adopts information technology and e-learning and employs this in its educational systems, therefore AAU has established Al Hourani center for e-learning, to be the first university that has adopted this technique.
