Professors from the MedUni Vienna Lecture at AAU
In furtherance of the collaborative efforts between our AAU and the Medical University of Vienna, Professors Sharokh Shariat and Harald Sitte from the Medical University of Vienna delivered lectures to faculty members of the Dentistry, Allied Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, and Nursing faculties at AAU. The visiting professors received a warm welcome from our President, Professor Sari Hamdan, alongside Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, Professor Anas Al-Soud, and Dean of the Dentistry Faculty, Professor Yazan Hassun. These esteemed professors also play crucial roles as researchers at the Hourani Center for Applied Scientific Research.
Professor Anas Al-Soud highlighted that these lectures form part of a collaborative program aimed at transferring medical, scientific, and research expertise to faculty members of AAU's medical faculties, facilitated by the center. This two-day visit underscores our shared commitment to overseeing medical faculties, particularly the Dentistry Faculty, recently established at AAU, adhering to the highest international quality standards in dentistry. Furthermore, a meeting was convened with a group of doctors who were granted scholarships by AAU to pursue their higher education in various fields of dental sciences.
Prof. Anas emphasized that the partnership with the Medical University of Vienna, ranked 201st globally, commenced in 2021 when AAU obtained a license to establish the Faculty of Dentistry. This collaboration, fostered through reciprocal field visits between the universities' staff, aims to achieve objectives centered on transferring cutting-edge medical and scientific technologies and experiences to AAU, ensuring the highest international quality standards, and producing specialized medical professionals capable of global competitiveness.
It's worth noting that our AAU was ranked first among private Jordanian universities, third among all Jordanian universities, and 801st globally according to the QS World University Rankings last year. With aspirations to break into the top 500 universities worldwide within the next three years, AAU remains steadfast in its pursuit of academic excellence on the global stage.
