President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University Receives the Annual Report of Traffic Accidents for the Year 2022
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, received the annual report of traffic accidents for the year 2022, issued by the Traffic Department, where it was handed over by Major Salim Al-Ababneh, Head of the Balqa Traffic Department.
Al-Ababneh stated that Jordan is witnessing an annual increase in the population, and with a quick look at the results of traffic accidents in Jordan for the year 2022, we find that there were 169,404 traffic accidents, including (11,510) accidents that resulted in human injuries that led to the loss of (562) people, (805) people with serious injuries, (6,739) people with moderate injuries, and (9,552) people with minor injuries.
Under the directives of the His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, the Public Security Directorate prepared a traffic strategic plan for the years (2022-2023), which aims to improve the traffic situation, and activate the traffic system in an optimal manner.
Hamdan stressed the importance of activating the university's role in spreading awareness among students to reduce traffic accidents and adhere to traffic instructions, adding that Jordan has one of the highest rates of deaths due to traffic accidents, adding that advertising campaigns are good, but penalties must be toughened against those who disregard their lives and the lives of others.
