Al-Ahliyya Amman University expresses condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; 21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) Queen Elizabeth II was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime and 15 at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days is the longest of any British monarch and the longest recorded of any female head of state in history.Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth not only had exceptional ties in the western division, as the commonwealth compromises of 54 nations and she was the head of these nations before her death. The queen also had a strong relationship with the Middle East, particularly with Jordan. Queen Elizabeth through her reign of decades was able to meet His Late Majesty King Hussein as well as His Majesty King Abdullah the second and heir to the throne His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah.The relationship between the Hashemite and British royal families is close and well established over decades, which is evident in the relations between the two countries in all fields and the historical exchanged visits on several occasions. Hence, Al-Ahliyya Amman University holds a strong academic bond with several universities in the United Kingdom in the fields of joint programs and joint research such as the joint MA degree in Business Administration with Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Business School.Prof. Sari Hamdan and Prof. Anas Al-Soud attributed their condolences to Her Majesty by paying a visit to the British Embassy while they signed a memorial book.
