Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Ministry of Higher Education Sign an Agreement to Create Scholarships for Dentistry Major Students
Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research signed an agreement to establish a scholarship fund for dentistry students after the university obtained the initial license to establish a dentistry school. The agreement was signed at the Ministry by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Wajih Owais, and The President of the University Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, in the presence of Dr. Maher Al Hourani, Chairman of the University, Prof. Dr. Zafer Al-Saraira, President of the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority, and members of the Scholarship Committee including Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan, Professor Dr. Anas Al Saud and Mr. Shadi Masaadeh.Al-Ahliyya Amman University has begun to establish the Faculty of Dentistry and has received preliminary approval from the Higher Education Council to establish it. The University President Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan said, This agreement demonstrates our commitment to the highest professional standards for the mechanisms of granting scholarships to students in various dentistry majors to the most prestigious international universities, and is a clear demonstration of the serious actual cooperation between the university and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.” Furthermore, he expressed his appreciation for the clear role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation Authority in coordinating and ensuring the quality of scholarships in all Jordanian universities.According to the agreement signed between the ministry and the university, a scholarship fund will be established in light of the initial approval by the Council of Higher Education, which will be managed by a committee headed by the Chairman of the Accreditation Authority of Higher Education Institutions, Professor Dr. Zafer Al-Sarraira, and the committee will also include prof. Dr. Ahmed Al Hayasat, Professor Dr. Ahmed Hamdan, Professor Dr. Anas Al Saud and Mr. Shadi Masaadeh. The Committee will work on a five-year scholarship plan to send students for master's and doctoral degrees, or equivalent, to prestigious international universities, in the specialties needed by the Dentistry Faculty established at the University.
