AAU Secures Third Place in the Jordanian Universities Karate Championship for Male and Female Students
AAU's karate teams succeeded in securing the third overall position in both the male and female categories at the conclusion of the Jordanian Universities Karate Championship. The event, held as part of the sports session for Jordanian universities under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Natheer Obeidat, President of the Jordan University.
In the male students' championship, student Omar Shuqair won the gold medal in the under 60 kg category, while Abdullah Hammad secured the silver medal in the under 67 kg category. Additionally, player Mohammad Hazem Ayad achieved the bronze medal in the under 84 kg category, bringing the university's total to one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal, thereby earning the third overall position in the championship. This was under the guidance of the esteemed coach, Captain Hazem Ayad, and with the follow-up by the university's Sports Activities Supervisor, Mr. Sohaib Al-Tarawneh.
On the female students' side, student Katerine Tarish won the gold medal in the under 50 kg category, and Nermin Tarish secured the silver medal in the above 68 kg category. Lima Moayad Hawamdeh achieved the bronze medal in the under 55 kg category. Additionally, there were bronze medals in the university combat category for female students Katerine Tarish, Nermin Tarish, and Lima Hawamdeh, and a silver medal in the group Kata for Katerine Tarish, Nermin Tarish, and Lujain Shamout, bringing the university's total to one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, thus securing the third overall position in the championship. This was under the supervision of coach Samer Mohammad Jaber and the follow-up by the university's Female Sports Activities Supervisor, Ms. Areen Qutaishat.
Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyyat, congratulated the participating university teams for their achievements, appreciating the continuous support for student athletes by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, and the University President, Professor Sari Hamdan, and wishing all university teams success and more victories in various sports.
