AAU and Central Bank Sign Memorandum of Understanding in Fintech
Our University has inked a memorandum of understanding with the Central Bank of Jordan, aiming to bolster collaborative efforts in the field of financial technology (fintech). The agreement was signed by our president, Professor Sari Hamdan, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Hospitality, Professor Fayyez Haddad. Representing the Central Bank were Mr. Ghassan Abu Shahab, the Executive Director of the Supervision and Control Department of the National Payment System, Ms. Hend Al-Nasour, Assistant Executive Director of the Supervision and Control Department of the National Payment System, Mr. Ibrahim Ramadan, Head of the Financial Technology and Innovation Unit, and Ms. Sajida Abu Khdeir, Senior Specialist in Financial Technology and Innovation.
Post-signing, the memorandum's provisions were activated through a training workshop at the university. The workshop covered the latest fintech developments, including procedures and regulations implemented by the Central Bank. Mr. Alaa Al-Sallal, CEO of MadfoatCom Electronic Payment Company, and representatives from the Jordanian Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC) shared insights on digital innovation, business incubation, and financial inclusion.
In appreciation of the Central Bank's efforts in advancing fintech in Jordan, Professor Sari Hamdan presented the university's shield.
