AAU Excels in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024

London, April 10, 2024: The QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2024 were released today, highlighting AAU's position among the world's top universities in three specialties, marking a debut in two of these areas. In this year's rankings, AAU was recognized globally for its excellence in Hospitality and Leisure Management, ranked 101-150; Arts and Humanities, ranked 451-500; and Computer Science and Information Systems, ranked 651-700. These rankings are provided by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a prominent global higher education analyst, which conducts independent comparative analyses on the performance of over 16,400 individual university programs at more than 1500 universities across 96 countries. QS employs five key indicators to establish the subject rankings: a reputation index based on over 240,000 responses from academics and employers, a citation-per-paper index, the H-Index for research impact and productivity, and an indicator for global research collaboration through the International Research Network (IRN). In Jordan, 41 programs across 8 universities were ranked. Professor Sari Hamdan, our president, extended congratulations to all university members for this remarkable achievement and reiterated AAU's commitment to developing its academic programs to meet the highest international standards and maintain global competitiveness. Professor Anas Al-Soud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, detailed the university's continuous efforts to achieve top global educational quality standards across various indicators that foster ongoing development and adapt to all scientific specialties offered. He underscored the university’s notable accomplishment in Hospitality Management, provided by the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts, which has rapidly established itself among the top 150 universities worldwide in just three years since its inception. This success is attributed to its modern curricula, cutting-edge infrastructure, and a highly qualified team of academic and administrative professionals. It is noteworthy that last year, AAU ranked among the top 850 universities globally in the QS World University Rankings, achieving first place among private Jordanian universities and third among all Jordanian public and private universities, following the University of Jordan and the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
